Title: Human Migration: The Story of a Community     
Description: In this Xpeditions lesson, students come to understand some key concepts of human migration through the examination of maps and migration patterns. Students research and document the impact of migration on a region's cultural landscape. They examine migration patterns on a global and national scale as a class and then apply that understanding to a class project telling a migration story about their own community. Several pieces of literature appropriate for use with this lesson are suggested.

Title: The Meaning Behind the Mask     
Description: In this lesson, from EDSITEment, students explore the cultural significance of masks, discuss the use of masks in stories, and then investigate the role masks play in ceremonies and on special occasions in various African cultures. After students have studied these masks, they are then given an opportunity to choose a familiar story and make simple masks to perform the story.
