Title: Lip Balm Science
Description: During this lesson, students will make three types of lip balm. They will then predict which lip balm they think will be preferred by testers and test that prediction by collecting data from testers who sample the lip balms. They will analyze the data to check their predictions. This lesson is a collaboration lesson between Margaret Rice and Kay Emfinger.

Title: The Evidence of Chemistry
Description: The students will learn to identify evidence that a chemical reaction has taken place.  They will use the Internet to research evidence and find examples.  They will look around their school and neighborhood for examples. They will perform experiments in the science lab. The students will make a podcast, slideshow presentation, or a digital story board to show the types of evidence they collected and examples of each.

Description: During this lesson, students will work individually to identify a mystery powder. Students will have the opportunity to test known powders with different substances and record observations. Students will develop a plan that can be used to identify the mystery powder (which can be one powder or a mixture of 2 or 3 powders). Students will enjoy exploring the mystery powder to determine what it contains.

Description: The primary purpose of this Science NetLinks lesson is to engage students in an activity that allows them to observe that hotter conditions can speed up changes in materials. Students predict whether food coloring disperses more quickly in hot, cold, or room temperature water, then carry out a short activity to explore their predictions.
