Title: What's On Your Plate?
Description: In today's fast food world, it can be hard to make healthy eating choices. In this lesson, students will learn how they can incorporate healthy eating habits in their daily routines. They will use menus from local restaurant chains and evaluate which items are the healthiest according to what they have previously learned about nutritional facts/information on-line. They will then create a dietary journal on-line about their weekly dietary choices and share with their classmates.

Digital Tool Description: Educreations is an interactive whiteboard app that allows teachers to record their voice, handwriting, and diagrams. Students can create presentations and projects, as well as evaluate, analyze, and create. These lessons can be accessed on iPads and online.
Don't play with your food, Eat it!
Can you name the four main food groups? In this podcast, students will not only name them, but explain them in detail. The groups are divided up, and students will share important facts about each. There is also a short quiz at the end. We hope you enjoy learning about the four main food groups!
In this lesson, studetns will identify the food groups, record what they eat in a day, and compare what they ate with the recommended daily amounts.
Food Smarts: My Pyramid for Kids
In this lesson, students will identify the foods groups on the new food pyramid, select items from a food group and determine which ones are healthy, determine their recommended individual caloric intake, and create a menu of healthy food choices.

The Food Pyramid Webquest
In this webquest, the fruits and vegitables are beginning to lose nutritional value at the store since they are not being sold. Students are to create a brochure promoting healthy eating to boost healthy sale at any local supermarket.
