Toss the chips
Overview:
Toss the chips is a math activity to by played by students (alone or with partners).  They are to decompose numbers in different ways, use numbers to record how many, and develop and analyze visual images for quantities up to 10.  Few materials are needed.  The activity provides a visual for the students to create oral and eventually written number sentences.
