Description:
This yearlong project, from Illuminations, is divided into three parts and reinforces skills that lay a foundation for algebra, such as measurement, fractions, decimals, percents, and proportions. Friendly Fractions part 1 Overview: This podcast is part of a series on operations with fractions. Designed with the middle school student in mind, it is a refresher on the basics of fractions. The lesson also covers different types of fractions, how they are made, and how they are used. The podcast can be used as a lesson or as a supplement to a lesson. A suggestion would be to stop the lesson as it goes along and allow the students to work problems out themselves.
