This is an inquiry lesson used to review Algebra 1 objectives by applying them to geometry concepts. Students explore the properties of quadrilaterals and classify them by definition. This lesson can be use in geometry classes. Students in geometry classes can apply theorems and definitions of quadrilaterals rather than as an inquiry lesson.This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science, GEMS Project funded by the Malone Family Foundation.
Standard(s): [MA2015] GEO (912) 1: Know precise definitions of angle, circle, perpendicular line, parallel line, and line segment based on the undefined notions of point, line, distance along a line, and distance around a circular arc. [GCO1]

Title: Flip that Angle
Digital Tool:
iFlashcards Web Address URL:
http://www.freezingblue.com/iphone/flashcards/gettingStartediPhone.php Standard(s):
[MA2015] GEO (912) 1: Know precise definitions of angle, circle, perpendicular line, parallel line, and line segment based on the undefined notions of point, line, distance along a line, and distance around a circular arc. [GCO1] Digital Tool Description: iFlipflashcards is a flashcard application developed as an Android application that is available in the Google Play store. This application allows users to create their own digital definitions, images, and graphs on flashcards that are accessible anywhere at the click of a button. iFlipflashcards also allows users to turn their digital flashcards into practice quizzes that the application keeps data on as the flashcards are used.
This application is a good resource to use when teaching angles. It allows graphed angles (obtuse, acute, right) to be loaded onto a digital flashcard with the definition of the type of angle and why the displayed angle is considered the angle that it is labeled. This allows students to practice the terms that were learned during a lesson on angles at anytime.
