Description: The students are assigned an artist from the period of European history that the class is studying at the time of the assignment.  The students will research their artist and write a one page paper giving the general background information on the artist.  Additionally, the student will create a visual presentation of the artists' work and make a first person presentation to the class lasting not more than ten minutes.

Description: This lesson is designed to help students of all backgrounds learn to work together in groups to complete a research paper assignment. It is a technology-based lesson with student presentations and student guided research. It is a cross curriculum based lesson with areas of history and technology integrated within the lesson's content.

Description: This Xpeditions lesson asks students to focus on the people of Iraq. They think critically about what the media delivers--specifically, why it focuses so heavily on war coverage and how this may contribute to skewed views of Iraq and its people. Students explore Iraq's rich cultural history and read online articles or print publications about daily life in Iraq. Finally, in small groups, they study further one aspect of daily life in Iraq (or another country in the Middle East) and create presentations for the rest of the class.
