Primary Learning Objective(s): Students will compare and contrast activities, holidays, and objects associated with the four seasons. Students will utilize presentation software to produce a digital book that relates to their everyday life and the four seasons.
Additional Learning Objective(s):
Approximate Duration of the Lesson: 61 to 90 Minutes
Materials and Equipment:
Technology Resources Needed:
Computers with Internet access and PowerPoint software, printer
Background/Preparation:
Students should have basic computer skills. Teacher should copy the attached Book of Seasons template file to each computer the students will be using.
Procedures/Activities:
1.)Introduce the lesson by asking students to share fun activities they enjoy doing throughout the year.
Record the list on the board. Then ask students if they know what season they are able to do these activities.

2.)Next, visit the websites below as a class to help students learn more about the seasons.
(TrackStar)
This site has several interactive links to assist students in learning about the seasons.

3.)Website:
(Seasons)
This site describes each season.

4.)Then allow students to practice what they learned by doing the season activities on the website below.
(Science Games)
On this site students will need to scroll down to the seasonal games.

5.)Let students create their own season book using the PowerPoint template attached. Demonstrate how to use the template before students begin the activity. Have a new template file open for each student as they come to the computer. Instruct students to type one or two sentences per slide about an activity they enjoy for each season. Once students have typed their sentences, ask them to click on the clip art icon to insert a picture of their activity. Be sure students save their work using the "Save as" option so that the blank template is preserved for the next student, if needed.

6.)Allow each student to present their seasons book. Then print the books for students.
