The objective of the LEA Compliance Monitoring program is to adequately monitor all K-12 school systems in Alabama for compliance with state and federal regulations and State Board of Education mandates.
After departmental research and planning, the following monitoring method was devised which includes:
ØA self-assessment to be completed by your school system due by Nov 1 of each year.
The Alabama Department of Education recently changed to its Compliance Monitoring Document. The Library Media Program now falls under Instructional Services. Following Dr. Bice’s lead, we are being “nimble” in our approach to this new endeavor. We have reconfigured this compliance document in with the hope that most of it can be via desk audit.
Several documents will be needed to support compliance in the area of library media. You will recieve the all information prior to your audit or you may download the preparation document here. You will send any needed documentation to either Meg Lowry (email@example.com) or Dede Coe (firstname.lastname@example.org). The recipient of your information will be based on the attached state map showing responsibility by district. Meg’s districts are shaded in green and Dede’s areas are clear.
