I often feel sorry for people who don't read good books; they are missing a chance to lead an extra life.

Mary Etta Bailey Media Center--Plainview School
DeKalb County Schools

The building was named in honor of our Dekalb County Board of Education Chairperson who has served our county as a board member for 16 years and chairperson for the last 10 years.  These pictures were taken during our open house last week.

Please visit us when you are up our way.  I would love to show off our new facility!

Opened Cafe in library as a fundraiser. We serve coffee, hot chocolate, lattes, and smoothies. All of our syrups are sugar free and we use skim milk. My library aides run the cafe for me. Students preorder their drinks and pick them up in between classes. We will also deliver class orders when requested by the teacher.

HOPE Academy/ECS
Eufaula, AL

Below is an example of the way in which our elementary school media specialist, Beth Cole, communicates with her teachers.  It is very creative; simple, yet informative.  Since our teachers have very little time for collaboration, we need to come up with quick and easy ways to communicate with them in order for our programs to be flexible, effective, and supportive of our school's curriculum.  I hope that all of us in Eufaula can move in this direction as we work to become 21st Century schools.
