Bearded Dragon Feeding
Overview:
From June 16th thru September 23rd 2007 the Exploreum is experiencing a reptile invasion. One of our newest visitors is a Bearded Dragon, yet to named, who lives in the Ciba Lab and visits with guest in the reptile exhibit. We have taken the opportunity to film this amazing animal as he excitedly feeds on a large batch of crickets. What fun it is to watch reptiles eat.

Scorpion Science
Overview:
Scorpions are fascinating arachnids. We have spent over 3 months handling and caring for 2 Black Emperor Scorpions. This video shows one of them feeding on a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach. We have also managed to capture our scorpion as it appears under ultraviolet light. We hope you enjoy this gross yet fascinating footage.

Venus Flytrap Feedings
Overview:
Venus flytraps are carnivores. They eat meat. These plants contain 3 trigger hairs on the roof of the trap (mouth) and 3 hairs on the bottom. When an insect or anything triggers those hairs the plant snaps shut trapping its prey. Check out the video to see this amazing natural mechanism in action. NOTE: This video does not include audio.

In an Instant: Frog Feedings
Overview:
While showing the Frogs exhibit we decided to use our high speed video camera to capture frogs feeding. These videos were shot at 600 frames per second. It is amazing to watch their movements. Also watch the tongues and the eyes. NOTE: This video does not include audio.

It's a "Zoo" Out There!!!
Overview:
This podcast allows students to explore five animals found in the Montgomery Zoo in Montgomery, Alabama. The photographs included show great detail about the appearance of each animal. It gives students a description of the size, color, and behaviors associated with each animal discussed. It is both student and teacher narrated and has music in the background in order to make students feel as though they are on an adventure. Let's go explore!
