Items discussed include an overview of the categories within the database, narrowing search results, and using information to create products in the elementary classroom. An example of a project-based assessment is included within the podcast.

Medieval Times-Entertainment
Overview:
        During a study of the Middle Ages, the third, fourth, and fifth grade gifted and talented students at E. R. Dickson Elementary researched elements of Medieval life.  In this podcast, one student took the idea of Music and Entertainment and wrote and performed a song about the steps to becoming a knight.  The song highlights on the life of a Page, Squire, and Knight.

Medieval Times- Court Jesters
Overview:
During a study of the Middle Ages, the third, fourth, and fifth grade gifted and talented students at E. R. Dickson Elementary researched elements of Medieval life.  In this podcast, two students took the idea of Court Jesters and wrote and performed a comedy routine based on the elements of the time period.  The routine includes sketches on Medieval food, knights, castles, and even Black Death.  The students also wrote Medieval commercials and interjected those into the routine.

This podcast in an introduction to the state of Alabama. An influential person, landmark, or event in Alabama is represented by each letter of the alphabet. The podcast serves as an example for students before they create a podcast. After the students watch the podcast, the students will be assigned to a letter of the alphabet. The students will research an influential person, landmark, or event in Alabama to represent each letter of the alphabet. The podcasts will be combined to create a class podcast.

Overview:
This is a podcast created by a student for her assignment on researching a Famous Black Alabamian during the month of February. She chose to research and report on W.C. Handy. She used her research findings and compiled the important information about Handy into a podcast. Her goal was to educate others about this famous Black Alabamian and his achievements.

This podcast was created by using students' Clerihew poems they created. It reinforces what they learned about the guidelines of Clerihew poetry, gives examples and illustrations of their poems, then reviews the audience on what they have seen and learned from viewing this podcast. This podcast can be used as a way of teaching Clerihew poetry, as well as an example of what the teacher expects of the students at the end of the lesson plan on Clerihew Poetry.
