Alabama Mardi Gras Celebration
Overview:
This podcast was created by 1st grade students and teacher.  The podcast includes pictures of the students creating their Mardi Gras project. Each student either created a Mardi Gras float or mask.  The students along with the teacher researched facts about Mardi Gras in order for students to better understand what they were creating and why.  At the end of the lesson students presented their facts and their Mardi Gras project.

This podcast highlights different celebrations/events in the state of Alabama. The podcast explains what a celebration is. It also talks about the different activities involved in each celebration/event. It highlights the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Decatur, Alabama, the Shrimp Bowl Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, Mardi Gras in Mobile, Alabama, and the Talladega Race in Talladega, Alabama.

Living Museum Podcast: Episode 15: Sacagewea
Overview:
This podcast is the final project of an in depth research project on Famous Americans. Each student chose which famous American to research. They all read a biography, researched their person using the AVL or other online resources and wrote a 1-2 page report. On a designated day, our "Living Museum" was opened and these characters came to life. Each child dressed as their famous American and came to school to give a speech to friends and family about the important events of their life. We hope you enjoy this podcast and learn more about the life of Sacagewea!
