Living Museum Podcasting Project: Famous Americans come to life!
Overview:
This podcast series incorporates second grade students' research, use of technology and presentation of historical figures.  Students self selected a Famous American to be the focus of their project.  They researched them in class using laptops and the Alabama Virtual Library.  Each student checked out and read a biography of their chosen American.  The students then wrote a 1-2 page report detailing the important events of the life of their American including what this person did to make a difference.  On a predetermined day, each student came dressed as their Famous American and our "Living Museum" was opened!  Students gave speeches sharing the main events of their life to an audience filled with delighted parents and friends.
