Title: “Tan”: Formerly know as 七巧板 
Description: 七巧板 the I formerly known as "Tan" is the first of two lessons to introduce first grade students to geometry using tangrams. This lesson incorporates history, math, and language arts. In this lesson students will be able to identify the seven shapes associated with tangrams and the defining properties of each shape. Students will also use the tangrams to create geometric shapes.

Description: Tan II formerly known as “七巧板” (pronounced she-tow-bah) is the second of two lessons to introduce first grade students to geometry using tangrams.  This lesson incorporates history, math, and language arts.  In this lesson students will build on their knowledge of geometric shapes and apply knowledge using logical reasoning.

Description: In this unit of three lessons, from EDSITEment, students learn about families in various Spanish cultures and gain a preliminary knowledge of the Spanish language, learning the Spanish names for various family members. After completing the lessons in this unit, students are able to locate Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries on a map of the world and describe similarities and differences between family life in America and family life in Spain, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.

Description: In this Xpeditions lesson, students identify characteristics of traditional and modern rituals found in different cultures. Through reading stories about rituals, students identify some of their characteristics. Finally, students apply their understanding to rituals which occur on familiar holidays.
