Subject: Science (4 - 5), or Social Studies (4) Title: Conserve It To Preserve It
Description: In this lesson from "The Friends of Auntie Litter", (www.auntielitter.org), conservation and describing ways to sustain natural resources will be explored. This lesson is one from the “Take Pride Statewide” series.

Subject: Mathematics (4), or Science (4), or Technology Education (3 - 5) Title: Lighting Up the Room!
Description: Each group of students will measure the perimeter of a teacher's classroom. They will work to build and redesign the teacher's classroom to scale (2 feet = 1 inch) using a shoe box and other supplies. They will then wire that room using a series circuit complete with a switch. Each group will use video and digital cameras to document each step and then create a Photostory with a minimum of ten photos.

Description: As part of a unit on electrical circuits, students will work in collaborative groups to create a video of how to construct parallel and series circuits. This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science University, GEMS-U Project.
