Title: Grow a GEM
Description: Students will  grow crystals out of different substances.  Students will also document and make a podcast video of the growth of their crystals. Students will make and identify different geometric shapes. This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science, GEMS Project funded by the Malone Family Foundation.

Subject: English Language Arts (6), or English Language Arts (6), or Science (6), or Technology Education (6 - 8)
Title: What's Shaking?
Description: This lesson is a mini-unit on earthquakes. Students will watch videos, complete drawings and diagrams, and work in collaborative groups as they investigate such things as faults and the causes and effects of earthquakes. Students will also learn about seismic waves and how earthquakes are measured. This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science, GEMS Project funded by the Malone Family Foundation.

Subject: English Language Arts (6), or English Language Arts (6), or Science (6), or Technology Education (6 - 8)
Title: Volcanoes
Description: In this lesson, students will learn about the three main types of volcanoes.
