Title: What's in a Cell?
Description: This lesson focuses on the function of organelles through technology integration. The students will identify the various organelles by using an electronic game. Then, they will construct a Prezi (online presentation) and present their findings to the class, which will include a diagram. Also, the students will differentiate between eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells and define the meaning of those terms throughout the course of the Prezi.

Title: Building A Cell: Edible Cell Project
Description: Students will create an Eukaryotic cell from materials that they can eat.  Students will need to have a lesson on the types of Eukaryotic cells and its organelles before they complete this assignment.  Students will construct these projects at home and present them to the class. Pictures will be taken of the students and their Edible cell. This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science University, GEMS-U Project.

Title: Organelle Matching Game
Description: The student must first have an understanding of the cell, the cellular organelles, and their functions. Afterwards, they will create an organelle matching game using index cards. This will be a reinforcement activity to complete a unit on cells. This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science, GEMS Project, funded by the Malone Family Foundation.

Title: Inside the Cell
Description: This lesson is intended to familiarize students with different categories of cells. Emphasis will be placed on the comparison and contrast of plant and animals cells and the structures within them.This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science, GEMS Project funded by the Malone Family Foundation.

Description: In this Science NetLinks lesson, students microscopically detect the presence of chloroplasts, cell walls and cell membranes of the common aquarium plant, Elodea. Students then determine the effects of different salt solutions on the Elodea plant cell structures.
