Title: Digital Story Writing: Cultural Myths
Description: You are a folklorist observing the lives and cultures of different people. You want to tell the world about  their culture, beliefs, and values. You and a group of other folklorist are going to research the lives of a an ethnic group, and create a digital story about their lives, and present it to all the folklorist at the "Who are They?" convention.

Title: Research Project: American Heroes - Collaborative Education
Description: This lesson is designed to help students of all backgrounds learn to work together in groups to complete a research paper assignment. This is a collaborative based lesson plan that challenges students to work together to complete the assignment as a warm-up to the individual research paper required at the end of the term. It is a technology-based lesson with student presentations and student guided research. It is a cross curriculum based lesson with areas of history and technology integrated within the lesson's content.

Title: Pennies for your Future!
Description: This is a hands-on activity that is designed to guide students through the process of finding and applying for scholarships. Title: American Historical Fiction Journal
Description: In this American literature (1900-2000) creative research paper project, each student creates an original work of American historical fiction using his/her knowledge of the research process. Students identify and address the ways culture, technology, and social customs are reflected in American literature from 1900 to the present.

Title: To Kill a Mockingbird: Building Knowledge
Description: As a conclusion to a class study of Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, students create models and pictures based on the novel's descriptions to illustrate the effect of setting on plot and character.

Description: In this lesson from EDSITEment, students employ the screenwriter's craft to gain a fresh perspective on historical research, learning how filmmakers combine scholarship and imagination to bring historical figures to life and how the demands of cinematic storytelling can shape our view of the past. Working in small groups, students examine a figure in women's history through the lens of filmmaking, producing a screenplay based on an autobiographical narrative and their own research into the time period in which that autobiography is set.

Title: Was the United States Ready for Pearl Harbor?      Add Bookmark
Description: In this lesson, from Xpeditions, students consider the United States level of preparedness for the Pearl Harbor attack and discuss what the U.S. could have done to be better prepared. Students conclude by writing letters to American military commanders in the summer of 1941, suggesting what they might do to prepare for a Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

Description: This Xpeditions lesson asks students to compare and contrast piracy in its golden age with modern piracy. They learn where piracy is practiced today and write reports pretending they are on an international anti-piracy commission, describing the similarities and differences between modern and historical piracy and proposing some solutions to modern piracy problems.
