Title: Fasching
Description: A 5-8 day project that divides students into groups and allows a greater number of students to benefit from two computers in my classroom.

Title: Pen Pal Mania!
Description: In this lesson, students will use the target language to correspond with a native speaker. This is an excellent activity for students in second semester of second year or higher.

Title: French Internet Clothes Shopping
Description: Students practice clothing vocabulary and computer spreadsheet skills by visiting authentic French online clothing catalogs. They choose articles of clothing for purchase for themselves and family members and create a spreadsheet to record and calculate information. They also visit a currency exchange rate website for the current rate of Euros to American dollars. This lesson could easily be used for any target language, once vocabulary for clothes, colors, and family relationships are mastered.

Title: Ein Mann zu Viel
Description: In this lesson designed for second semester of German 3/4, students will read a short story Ein Mann zu Viel, review vocabulary, discuss chapters and then recreate the story by making a video adaptation of the story. Students may alter the ending of the story to make it more interesting.

Title: Foreign Language Semester or Chapter Review
Description: This is an easy way to review for foreign language semester exams at any level using a number of hands-on and interactive activities, including some which are technology-based. This could also be adapted to chapter tests. The lesson is recommended for classrooms with 3 or more computers. Students will circulate to various stations, which can be adapted to the content being studied.

Title: Bridging Cultural Gaps
Description: In a semester-long project, foreign language students begin a penpal correspondence exchange with a student from another country. Through this exchange, students gain a greater insight into the culture and language of another country, improve their communication skills in the target language, and compare their lives to those of students their own ages in another country by discussing common topics.

Title: German Food and Eating Customs
Description: Working in small groups, students plan and serve a typical German supper, using the studied vocabulary to express their needs and opinions. Presentations of cultural customs, cultural differences, and menus make efficient use of limited computer access. (The lesson is easily adapted to other culture studies.)

Title: Touring Our School Through Two Languages
Description: This lesson will help students combine the tools of technology with language skills to communicate with non-English speaking students in the community.

Description: The goals of this EDSITEment lesson are to strengthen student perceptions of the real-world importance of mastering a foreign language, to give students at all levels practice in reading and writing French, to engage lower level students in using their knowledge of French to plan a tour of Paris, and to engage upper level students in using their knowledge of French to compare French and American journalism.

Description: The goals of this EDSITEment lesson are to challenge stereotypes about cultures unfamiliar to us; to expand awareness of the range of factors that help constitute a cultural identity; to research, organize, and present information about everyday life in an unfamiliar culture; and to create an imaginative first hand account of life in an unfamiliar culture.
