Title: Andy Warhol: Artist to the Masses
Description: This lesson is intended to be a technology-based visual arts project. Parts of the lesson involving technology may be left out in the event certain programs are not available for use. It is a stand-alone lesson that can be extended on when discussing other Pop Artists, or as an introduction to new media types within the art classroom.


Subject: Arts Education (7 - 12), or Science (7)
Title: Cells! Cells! Cells!
Description: Students will learn about both POP Art and science in this pattern project. Working in conjunction with a science teacher in your school, students will view cells through a microscope and use visual diaries to create pattern templates. Templates are then used in simple and bold coloration to implement a POP inspired work of art.


Subject: Arts Education (7 - 12), or Technology Education (9 - 12)
Title: Painting in the Style of a Famous Artist
Description: This lesson will introduce students to several prominent painters in art history. Students will research selected artists in groups and create PowerPoint presentations. After the groups present the information on the artists to the class, each student will then individually select one artist's style and technique to emulate in their own painting.

Title: Expressionism: What’s the deal with these strange colors?
Description: The students will gain a good understanding of the history of Expressionism painting and its use of color and paint application to establish an “emotional feel”. They will use this knowledge to create their own expressionistic oil painting.

Description: In this lesson, from EDSITEment, students explore the traditions and conventions of haiku, comparing this classic form of Japanese poetry to a related genre of Japanese visual art and composing haiku of their own.
