Title: The Role of the President
Description: During this lesson, students have the opportunity to explore the role of the president by navigating the Internet and other resources. Students will learn about the president's family, advisors, and others who help him to accomplish his role as president.

Title: What Is The Main Idea?
Description: During this lesson students begin to identify the main idea of a story they read or hear. Students use graphic organizers to discover the main idea of The Carrot Seed, by Ruth Krauss, and Marsupial Sue, by John Lithgow.


Subject: Credit Recovery Science (K - 1), or Science (K), or Technology Education (K - 2)
Title: What Will I Wear to School Today?
Description: Hot, cold, windy, or snowing, students need to know how to dress appropriately. In this lesson, students will learn how weather affects what they wear to school each day. Students will practice choosing the appropriate clothing by using computer software that allows students to dress different people.


Subject: English Language Arts (1), or Technology Education (K - 2)
Title: My Computer Alphabet Book
Description: During this lesson, students will use the computer to make an alphabet book using word processing software. Students will demonstrate their ability to list pictures with the same beginning sound as the letters of the alphabet and learn how to insert clip art and type words in a document.


Subject: Mathematics (1 - 2), or Technology Education (K - 2)
Title: My Favorite Time of Day
Description: This is a hands-on mathematics lesson for telling time to the hour. Students will use individual clocks with partners for guided practice. The assessment will be a writing/drawing activity incorporating the use of a computer for word processing purposes.

Title: Class Portrait: An Anthology In Words and Pictures
Description: Students will use a digital camera and word processor to produce an illustrated anthology of original poetry.

Title: Luscious Layers of Life...A Walk Through the Rainforest
Description: This lesson provides students with an opportunity to learn about the animals and plant life that live in the various layers of the tropical rainforest. Students will view a slideshow with many different facts and pictures of the rainforest. They will also research animals and plants of the rainforest by searching Internet sites. Students will also share what they learn through an typed report.


Subject: Social Studies (K - 2), or Technology Education (K - 2)
Title: Fifty States Project
Description: Students will follow simple research steps in the school media center and on the Internet to complete a poster on an assigned state by identifying the state's symbols and agricultural products.


Subject: Arts Education (K), or Technology Education (K - 2)
Title: Red Plus Blue Makes Something New!
Description: Primary and secondary colors are important concepts for young children to master. This lesson explores this concept using a variety of technology.


Subject: Mathematics (K - 3), or Technology Education (K - 2)
Title: Hundred Blocks Board
Description: In this lesson students will practice adding, subtracting, and multiplying without regrouping using a hundred blocks board. Students will be given opportunities to identify and discuss different patterns that they discover and relate number patterns to visual patterns.


Subject: English Language Arts (2 - 3), or Technology Education (K - 2)
Title: Welcome to our Classroom
Description: Students will create a classroom resource book for substitutes to help them feel more comfortable and familiar with faces and procedures in our classroom and school.
