Title: A Trip along the Alimentary Canal
Description: Students will prepare a digital presentation on the digestive organs, accessory structures, processes, digestive chemicals, and nutrients. This is a part of the unit on digestion and metabolism, and is performed at the beginning of the unit with additional content afterwards, especially on metabolism, nutrition, and digestive disorders. It involves use of technology to research, create, and display a presentation. It may be done individually or in small groups.


Subject: Arts Education (7 - 12), or Mathematics (5 - 12), or Technology Education (9 - 12)
Title: Just the facts! Exploring Order of Operations and Properties of Real Numbers
Description: Students use their imagination while learning the importance of 'Order of Operations' and 'Properties of Real Numbers'. This lesson incorporates class discussions, wiki and/or online discussion threads (free at www.wikispace.com and/or quicktopic.com), art and puzzles.This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science, GEMS Project funded by the Malone Family Foundation.

Title: Pen Pal Mania!
Description: In this lesson, students will use the target language to correspond with a native speaker. This is an excellent activity for students in second semester of second year or higher.

Title: Bridging Cultural Gaps
Description: In a semester-long project, foreign language students begin a penpal correspondence exchange with a student from another country. Through this exchange, students gain a greater insight into the culture and language of another country, improve their communication skills in the target language, and compare their lives to those of students their own ages in another country by discussing common topics.
