Title: Paper Chase Vocabulary
Description: Students will exhibit an awareness on the concept of the story. Students will gain an understanding of the vocabulary, extend the vocabulary, and use it while speaking and writing. Students will become familiar with vocabulary as it is placed within a text.


Subject: English Language Arts (K), or Science (K)
Title: Sense Suspense
Description: In this language development lesson, Kindergarten ELLs learn the five senses, classify objects using the five senses, and create an ABC book modeled after Bruce McMillan's Sense Suspense in which they demonstrate their learning.


Subject: Arts Education (K - 1), or English Language Arts (K - 1), or Technology Education (K - 2)
Title: Easter Egg Eggstravaganza
Description: Computer and language arts skills will be introduced, reinforced and enriched through Easter activities related to the book The Golden Egg by A.J. Wood.


Subject: English Language Arts (K), or Technology Education (K - 2)
Title: Peeking At Pumpkins
Description: As part of a unit about pumpkins, students will learn about the life cycle of a pumpkin. Student understanding will be aided by the use of the flannel board, individual booklets, and Kid Pix software.


Subject: English Language Arts (K - 1), or Technology Education (K - 2)
Title: Word a Day
Description: Word a Day allows students to develop a bank of sight words that are meaningful to them. Each student picks words to add to his/her individual word bank. The teacher can specify particular categories or let the student choose any word. The student then finds a picture or symbol to illustrate each word using a variety of resources.

Description: Water is always moving in a continuous cycle from liquid to solid to gas and back again. Students study this never-ending cycle through shared readings, center activities, and experiments.
