Description: During this lesson, students will visit Internet sites to research facts about owls and food chains. They will use this information to complete a picture of an owl food chain, dissect owl pellets, and write a class book about owls.

Description: During this lesson students will use their imaginations and writing skills to write a story from a wordless picture book, Tuesday, by David Wiesner. They will work in pairs and write text to go along with the pictures. They will also view a website to learn facts about frogs.

Description: During this lesson, students will actively listen to the story, The Little House, and determine the sequence of events. This lesson will be used to help students differentiate between natural changes and man-made changes in environments over time. The students will use word processing software to write about the little house's feelings. The students will also create their own little house.

Description: During this lesson students will listen to the story, Noisy Nora by Rosemary Wells and identify punctuation used in the story. Students will also play games to strengthen knowledge of punctuation usage. They will then use the Internet to practice what they learn during this lesson.

Description: This lesson will introduce students to nouns. Students will practice identifying nouns in a book and on the Internet. A noun quilt will be created at the end of the lesson to demonstrate students' understanding of nouns.
