Broadcast from the Space Camp Orbital Training Facility- the March 2009 Space podcast. July 20, 2009 marks the 40 year anniversary of the first successful flight to the moon. That year Neil Armstrong took his first historic step out onto the moon’s surface. Listen as Scoot-R, space camp’s training robot, tells a little about Dr. von Braun and the history of the space program.

The video also features Kelly who discusses hydroponics and its importance to the space program. Learn how scientists are able to grow plants in any environment with just water and plant food. This will allow astronauts to grow their own food in space while making longer flights to other planets in the future.
