Girls Engaged in Math and Science- University
Girls Engaged in Math and Science University (GEMS-U) is an innovative, exclusive statewide project designed to develop and disseminate high quality materials and training resources from a panel of elite award-winning Alabama educators hosted by the Alabama Learning Exchange (ALEX), a nationally-recognized state web portal for teachers, students, and parents. These resources will be targeted to actively engage girls to better prepare them for the 21st Century workforce. This video highlights the 2009 GEMS-U Exposition. At this event, girls presented projects that they created based upon GEMS-U lesson plans that had been taught by thier classroom teachers.
