
Alabama State Personnel Development Grant
The Alabama Department of Education Special Education Services Section, was again awarded a State Improvement Grant (SIG) by the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services Section, U.S. Department of Education. The Alabama State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG), which began September 1, 2007, is a five year comprehensive professional development grant.
The new grant aims to build on successes from the previous State Improvement Grants in the areas of:
- Reading
- Student engagement
- Student behavior and discipline
- Recruitment, retention, and ongoing professional development of teachers and support personnel.
