Creating a Basic Page
  1. Click Create Content on the left side Navigation menu.
  2. Click Page.
  3. Input the Title and Body content.
  4. Click Save.

  1. Click Administer.
  2. Click Content Management, then Content.
  3. Place the mouse cursor on the page title link, but do not click it.
  4. Write down the page designation in the status bar at the bottom e.g. node/5.
  5. Click Site building.
  6. Click Menus.
  7. Click Navigation and then click Add item.
  8. In the Menu link title box, type the name of the menu item.
  9. In the Path box enter the page designation e.g. node/5.
  10. Click the down arrow in Parent item to choose where the link should appear (Click Navigation if the item is not a submenu).
  11. Click the down arrow in Weight to determine where the link should appear vertically.
  12. Click Save.

Editing or Deleting a Navigation Link
  1. Click Administer.
  2. In the main page area, click Menus.
  3. Click Navigation.
  4. Find the link in the list and click edit or delete.



Adding a Primary Link (top button navigation) (Click for screencast.)
  1. Click Administer.
  2. Click Content Management, then Content.
  3. Place the mouse cursor on the page title link, but do not click it.
  4. Write down the page designation in the status bar at the bottom e.g. node/5. Click Site building.
  5. Click Menus.
  6. Click Primary links and click Add item.
  7. In the Menu link title box, type the name of the menu item.
  8. In the Path box enter the page designation e.g. node/5.
  9. Make sure the Parent item drop down menu says Primary links.
  10. Click the down arrow in Weight and click where the menu item should appear.
  11. Click Save.

Creating a Link to a Web Page
  1. Highlight the text that will become a link.
  2. Click the Insert/Edit Link button.
  3. Type the web page address to which the link will go. To link to a page within the site, type node/# e.g. node/15.
  4. Click Insert.
  5. Click Save.



Creating a File Repository Page (Click for screencast.)
Create one page for all site files. 
  1. Click Create Content.
  2. Click Page.
  3. Type a page Title e.g. Site Files.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and click File attachments.
  5. Click Choose File.
  6. Locate and click the file to be attached, then click Open.
  7. Click Attach.
  8. After attaching all files, be sure to click Save.

Linking to Files
  1. Open the File Repository page. Administer>Content>(Click page link)
  2. Right click the file link and click Copy Shortcut. (Mac>Copy Link Location)
  3. Go to the page that contains the text that will link to the file.
  4. Highlight the text that will link to the file.
  5. Click the Insert/Edit Link button.
  6. Paste the file link into the Link URL box.
  7. Click Insert.
  8. Click Save.


Inserting an Image
  1. Click in the text where you wish the image to appear.
  2. Click the Insert or update an embedded image button.
  3. Click Upload.
  4. Type a Title e.g. myimage1
  5. Click Browse, and then locate the image. Click Open.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Before inserting the image, remove the Title.
  8. Under Size, choose Original.
  9. Under Insert mode, choose HTML Code.
  10. Click Insert.
  11. Resize the image to the desired size.
  12. Either click the Left or Right alignment button. If Right alignment is desired, instructions for Editing Image Properties must also be followed.
Editing Image Properties
  1. Click the image so that it has boxes around it.
  2. Click the Insert/edit image button.
  3. Click the Appearance tab.
  4. Change Alignment if desired.
  5. Click the Horizontal space box and type 10.
  6. Click Update and OK.
  7. Click Save.

Creating Slideshows
Creating a Slideshow Block
  1. Click Administer>Site building>Blocks.
  2. The yellow highlighted text indicates where the slideshow may appear on the page. Note the location where the slideshow should appear e.g. “Content Top Left.”
  3. Scroll to Content Glider 1. Click the down arrow and choose the location where the slideshow should appear. Scroll to the bottom and click Save blocks.
  4. Content Glider 1 should now be at the top of the list. Click Configure beside Content Glider 1.
  5. Scroll to Show block on specific pages.
  6. For the block (slideshow) to show on all pages, choose Show on every page except those listed. To show on specific pages, choose Show on only the listed pages. Pages must be listed as shown in the example.
  7. Click Save block.
  8. Scroll to the bottom and click Save blocks.

Creating a Slideshow for Content Glider 1

  1. Click Create Content and then Content Glider 1.
  2. For title type 0001.
  3. Add a photograph and/or text as normal.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Create Content and then Content Glider 1.
  6. For title type 0002.
  7. Add a photograph and/or text as normal.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Continue this process using titles like 0001, 0002, 0003, etc. The slides will appear in order according to the title name, therefore 0001 will appear first, 0002 will appear second, etc.
The slideshow can hold up to 10 slides. The second and third slideshows are created in the same way. Content Gliders 2-3 can appear in different locations (blocks) on a page and on any page. To create slides for Content Glider 2, go to Create Content and choose Content Glider 2, etc.

Adding Video to a Page

It is assumed that the video is already created and ready for upload.
  1. Create or open the page to which video should be added.
  2. Click here to copy sample code needed to insert a video, then paste it in the Body.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and click File attachments.
  4. Click Choose File to choose the video, then click Attach.
  5. After the video is uploaded, a url link will appear under the video name like http://alex.state.al.us/training/files/video1.mp4. Copy the link.
  6. Replace the link in the sample code with the one copied.
  7. Click Save. The video should now appear on the page.
