Description: High school students will learn the distinction between the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) and the Library of Congress Classification (LCC). After a PowerPoint presentation of the LCC, the students will compare and contrast the two systems and assign call numbers to various subjects, including their class schedule and a group of books.

Description: This lesson, from Xpeditions, helps students sort through the myriad points of view offered on the Internet and evaluate the sources and purposes of news articles and Web sites. Students read articles from National Geographic News and answer questions describing each article's source, purpose, and viewpoint. Students then research the topics presented in an article of their choice and evaluate the resources they find. They conclude by creating checklists they can use in the future to evaluate articles, Web sites, and other information.

Title: How do you Lino?
Description: This website is a digital cork board where students can share their ideas through virtual sticky notes and pictures. This website can be used to get ideas flowing at the beginning of the lesson. The teacher can present a topic and the kids can write notes/questions/comments and post pictures relating to the topic of what they think it is. This can also be used for students who are working on a group project together. They are able to put there ideas out on the cork board so they can collaborate and make decisions.
