Title: Russian Calendar: Seasons and Months
The purpose of this lesson is to acquire appropriate calendar vocabulary for future use in exercises, dialogues and everyday conversations. This lesson should be followed by a series of lessons on perfecting the knowledge of the newly acquired vocabulary, learning how to use it in speech situations, identifying and giving out the dates and days of the week for particular events, etc.

This is a great "first day of first-year German" activity. Using the melody to "Are You Sleeping" introduce students to a typical exchange of greetings. If taught on the first day of school, students will be able to "speak German" immediately.
