Title: Dancing Colors
Dancing Colors teaches students gesturing, drawing the illusion of motion, and color schemes. Students look at photos or life models and create a drawing of a dancer in motion. Students then add color to the the drawing based on a choosen color scheme.
Standard(s): [AED] VA1 (7-12) 4: Apply the elements of art and principles of design to the production of two- and three-dimensional artwork.
Title: Expressionism: What’s the deal with these strange colors?
The students will gain a good understanding of the history of Expressionism painting and its use of color and paint application to establish an “emotional feel”. They will use this knowledge to create their own expressionistic oil painting.
