Title: I Could Be The Next Beethoven
This is an interdisciplinary lesson designed for Middle level bands and language art students. The band and language art class will create a project to be presented to the student body. The project will consist of the students writing the words to an alma mater for their school, and the band students will create and vary the melody. The band students will use a music software program to write the music to be played by the band students.

Title: The Roaring Twenties
This activity involves comparing turn of the century music with the music from the Jazz Age. Students will listen to musical selections and analyze how the change in the music reflects the change in cultural attitudes. They will also work in groups to create their own radio shows.
