**Description:**
Students will design a 12 inch quilt square consisting of geometrical shapes.They must use their knowledge of fractions and polygons in order to create an exact 12" by 12" square.Students will use knowledge of area of a figure in order to create a quilt using their squares.This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science University, GEMS-U Project.
