Overview:

The purpose of this lesson is to explore and verify that soil erosion is affected by the makeup of the soil using plant roots, rocks, and the slope of the land as experimental factors. Students will participate in a hands-on demonstration of soil erosion from water. They will then use plants to slow soil erosion.
