Phase:  Before/Engage 
Activity:  After watching the introductory video, distribute pregraphed lines to pairs of students. Students will create a word problem that will reflect the characteristics of the given line. Each group will present their word problem to their classmates for them to interpret the given information and recreate the linear equation. Groups will then share the original graph and the teacher will be able to use the results as a formative assessment to direct/guide the remainder of the learning experience. 
Assessment Strategies:  The teacher will evaluate the group presentation to determine progress toward standard.
