ToonDoo is a digital comic creator that allows you to add backgrounds, characters, props and speech bubbles. You can tell a story through pictures.

Students will identify the contributions of historical figures from the Revolutionary time period.

Students will create a cartoon highlighting the contributions of historical figures during the Revolutionary War.

Students will use ToonDoo to create a cartoon that highlights contributions of historical figures during the revolutionary war.

Assessment Strategies:

The cartoons will be the assessment tool. You will check that the content represents the characters historical importance.


Advanced Preparation:

Previous instruction on the historical figures that they will study. Provide articles or web links for research purposes. Make sure students can access ToonDoo.

Variation Tips (optional):

You could use this tool for discussing the events that lead to the Revolutionary War. This tool could be used for other historical time periods.

Notes or Recommendations (optional):

You might want to consider setting up one ToonDoo account and allow your kids access. If students will have their own accounts they can email you a link to the cartoon.
