This interactive website should be used after the class spelling words have been introduced to the students. The interactive can be used to enhance the students’ knowledge of their spelling words through word descriptions, games, and a test.

Learning Objectives:

The student will be able to recognize the spelling words definitions and will be able to spell correctly. 

  Strategies, Preparations and Variations  

  1. The students will enter their spelling words into the word entry box on the link.
  2. Then the students will click the option "Teach Me", the program will allow the students to review the word and its definition.
  3. The students will then take the spelling test that corresponds to the spelling words entered and view how many they spelled correctly.
  4. The students will print the results of the spelling test for assessment.
Assessment Strategies:

  • The teacher will assess each student based on how many words the student can spell correctly.

Advanced Preparation:

  • Computers with Internet access are needed.

  • Students should be familiar with spelling/vocabulary words.
Variation Tips (optional):

Instead clicking "take the test" option, the student can click on the option to play the games to give them some more practice with the words before the test.
