This is a live stream chat, where students can ask questions and leave comments. Teachers can use the comments and questions to tailor their teaching on the spot to meet student needs. Students can also respond to one another, creating a live learning community. A temporary room can be set up that will automatically delete in a set time frame.

Today's Meet will facilitate interaction with students and teacher during a lesson in real time.

1. Students will log on to the room created by the teacher using the specified URL and type in their name.

2. As a bell ringer activity, students will respond to the days "Big Question" or theme.

3. The teacher will use the students responses as a springboard for the lesson opener.


Assessment Strategies:

Teacher will informally assess student background knowledge by viewing responses in the Today's Meet room.

Advanced Preparation:

  • Ensure there is an Internet connection available.
  • Create Today's Meet chat room and provide URL to students (digitally or handouts).
  • All students will need a device with Internet connection.
