[RI.5.2]Digital Tool Description: SlideShare is a slide hosting service. On it one can create presentations, or search from any of the presentations already created. SlideShare will be used in the activity by having the students read a selected text and then create a SlideShare presentation on the key points and main idea of the text. Students will then be split into groups of four and present and compare points made in their presentation.

[RI.5.2]Digital Tool Description: Wordle is a tool for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

[W.5.6]Digital Tool Description: Drawing Cartoons is a story-telling tool and animation app for Android devices. This app is an animation editor that allows you to easily create your own movies. All you have to do is create the key frames and the app fills in the missing slides to create a smooth animation! Students can use this tool to re-tell or summarize a story, or to create their own story. The students will be engaged and motivated because the app is fun and easy to use and they can share their animations with their friends.

Students will customize a character, choose a setting, record their voice or type a message for their character to say, save it, and share it with the world!
