Title: Greater Than, Less Than, or Equal To
Description:

Molly's More or Less Quest is an interactive game that reads students a short word problem and asks the student to tell if the numbers are less than, greater than, or equal to that are given in the word problem. The numbers are visually displayed. When a student hovers over the word it also reads the word to them before clicking.

This activity was created as a result of the DLCS Resource Development Summit.

Title: Body Alphabet Book: Digital Photography
Description:

Students take photographs of themselves making the shapes of letters. They use the ear for the letter C, their mouth for the letter O, or use their entire body and their peer to create the letter B. Let students get creative and create the alphabet with their body. Compile all the letters into a digital alphabet book in which the students must guess which letter the students are trying to represent in the photograph.

Description:

ABCya provides a fun and educational interactive game that teaches students to count by ones from another number other than 1. In this particular connect the dots, students are counting by ones from the number 21 to 40. The game provides scaffolding after wrong attempts and gives accuracy in a percentage when the dots have been connected.

Description:

Each digital tool teaches basic manipulative mouse skills.

Description:

Storybird is a website where you can create and publish books that you write. The site has many illustrations that you can use with the book that you have written. You can also read other people’s creations and give feedback on them. You can also receive feedback from other people about your creations. Storybird can be used in writing and teaching the students about technology. It can expand the students’ creativity by giving them a chance to create something that is all their own and publish it. This will also get students excited about reading and writing.

Description:

  Story Jumper is an online publishing website that allows kids to create their own story books. You have the tools needed to create a title page, dedication page, choose a theme for your book, upload pictures, or simply use the clip art gallery provided. This tool can be used in the classroom as an english language arts activity. By having students create their own books, teachers can express the importance of correct grammar and proper sentences. This tool can be used for any grade level. In kindergarten the students could have a more picture-book based story with few words and in sixth grade students could write a book about a famous historical leader from the Civil War.
