Students will listen to a read-aloud of One Hundred Hungry Ants by Elinor J. Pinczes to activate their thinking about division. Essential questions will help scaffold student prior knowledge.

Students will work with manipulatives to explore the concept of division and represent concrete models with division equations.
Students will apply what they know about division by writing their own story problem to match a given equation. This will assess if they can correctly interpret quotients.
Students will look at a number and determine how many rows and columns it creates in a Lego brick to create equal shares.
