[HUM] ED03 (8) 8: Demonstrate the ability to select, store, prepare, and serve nutritious foods.Unit Plan Overview: This unit engages students to recognize the importance of food safety in order to answer the essential question, "What does it mean for our food to be "safe"? Students will identify the forms of food contamination, discuss ways to prevent contamination of food, and demonstrate appropriate responses to a foodborne illness. Students will create a culminating product at the end of the unit to demonstrate their understanding of the question and to provide knowledge and information to the public.
