Title: Geometry Journey
Description: In this lesson students review geometry vocabulary. The students get moving and journey through the school and take photos of items that represent geometry vocabulary. They turn these photos into a virtual field trip.

Title: A What? A What? A Quadrilateral
Description: In this lesson, students will identify the characteristics of a quadrilateral.  Students will have a chance categorize quadrilaterals into subgroups such as squares, rhombuses, rectangles, and nonregular quadrilaterals.  This lesson using geometric shapes for a hands-on activity and includes a quadrilateral quest via the internet at the end.

Subject: Mathematics (5 - 6), or Credit Recovery Science (5 - 6), or Science (5)
Title: Grow a GEM
Description: Students will  grow crystals out of different substances.  Students will also document and make a podcast video of the growth of their crystals. Students will make and identify different geometric shapes. This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science, GEMS Project funded by the Malone Family Foundation.

Subject: Mathematics (3 - 5)
Title: The Class Quilt
Description: Students will design a 12 inch quilt square consisting of geometrical shapes.They must use their knowledge of fractions and polygons in order to create an exact 12" by 12" square.Students will use knowledge of area of a figure in order to create a quilt using their squares.This lesson plan was created as a result of the Girls Engaged in Math and Science University, GEMS-U Project.

Title: The Great Divide--A Lesson in Symmetry
Description: This is a whole group, hands-on, fun lesson where students will use knowledge of symmetry to produce art work.
