Title: Elkonin Letterbox Lesson Long a: ay, ai
Description: This lesson is an Elkonin letterbox lesson designed to help help students to isolate and pronounce initial, medial vowel and final sounds (phonemes) in spoken single-syllable words.  Elkonin letterbox lessons are hands-on activities that involve orally producing single syllable words by blending sounds (phonemes), including consonant blends and the segmentation of single-syllable words.

Title: Read Well Letter Chant Podcast
Description: This lesson guides students through creating a Podcast that provides video and audio of the Read Well Letter Chant.   Students take pictures of the cards and record the chant to go along with the cards.

Title: Word a Day
Description: Word a Day allows students to develop a bank of sight words that are meaningful to them. Each student picks words to add to his/her individual word bank. The teacher can specify particular categories or let the student choose any word. The student then finds a picture or symbol to illustrate each word using a variety of resources.
