Play the Dewey Decimal System Game
This lesson introduces the 10 main categories used in the Dewey Decimal Classification System for non-fiction bookshelf arrangement. A slideshow will be presented to students to help them learn details about the Dewey Decimal Classification System. Students will be able to demonstrate what they learn through participating in an interactive game.

A Penguin Tale or Tail?
This interdisciplinary approach to science, language arts and technology will guide students into a study of real information about penguins and their habitat. They will learn to identify homophones and share what they learn using appropriated communication and listening skills.

Students will listen to the story Once There Was A Bull... (frog) and identify the compound words in the story, then work with a partner to think of additional examples of compound words.

Water is always moving in a continuous cycle from liquid to solid to gas and back again. Students study this never-ending cycle through shared readings, center activities, and experiments.
